OVERVIEW A child dies and the parents have to rationalize life and death, and Heaven and Earth, to survive the grief.

OPINION The theme is ‘Nature’ v ‘Grace’ and the story is life and death. Terrance Malick searches for the big story again. Not unlike the big story in ‘The Thin Red Line’. This is a beautiful movie and God is in every frame, as is the realization of the smallness of human existence in the immenseness of our universe. Lengthy compared to an average length movie, yet simple in its storytelling. Riveting . Chastain is wonderful. Hunter McCracken is a star ..
